Georg Klimt's first-class craftsmanship in metal sculpture was already recognized and valued by his contemporaries - above all by his older brother Gustav Klimt, as well as within the Secession movement.
Georg Klimt carried out commissions from the Wiener Werkstätte, respected Viennese cabinetmakers and designs from Carl Otto Czeschka and Gustav Klimt, among others. The two doors of the Secession building, designed by Joseph Maria Olbrich, were also made by this leading master of sculpture.
